Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences
After dropping a two-point decision to St. Joseph's in the regular season, the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences won a convincing 67-48 wire-to-wire victory to capture their second straight championship. In the third straight meeting between the Panthers and Lady Bears for the title, Albany Pharmacy used a balanced offense that saw four starters score 14 points each and used their size advantage to maintain a 48-28 rebounding edge. The Panthers raced out to a 16-4 lead in the first eight minutes and never looked back, leading by as many as 20 midway through the second half.

Alyson Johnson was selected as the 2012 HVWAC Tournament Most Valuable Player. The senior forward averaged 21.5 points and 7.0 rebounds for the tournament, pouring in a tournament-high 29 points helping to hold off Berkeley in the semifinal and added 14 points and nine rebounds in the championship.

College of New Rochelle head coach Susan Kern was selected by her peers as the 2011-2012 Coach of the Year. In her second year at the helm of the Blue Angels, Kern squad saw a four-fold improvement, going from a two-win campaign last season to eight wins and a fourth place conference finish this season.
