ALBANY, N.Y. – Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences sophomore Erin Tersegno (Webster, N.Y.) was named Player of the Year as the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced the members of the 2016 All-HVIAC Women’s Soccer Team at the conclusion of the HVIAC Tournament.
Tersengo, last season's Rookie of the Year, logged seven goals and five assists in conference play this season, helping the Panthers to a 3-0 mark and their fifth straight regular season title. The sophomore striker, who seized Player of the Week twice this season, had 21 goals overall entering the postseason.
SUNY ESF freshman midfielder Alyssa Hughes (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) was named the league's Rookie of the Year. The one-time Rookie of the Week tallied a goal and assist in the Mighty Oaks' two league wins.
SUNY ESF head coach Dan Ramin was named Coach of the Year for the second straight year. Ramin led the Mighty Oaks to a 10-2-1 mark overall and a No. 3 national ranking in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association entering the weekend.
In total, 11 women were honored with the All-HVIAC recognition for outstanding play throughout the season and four were repeat winners.
The HVIAC All-Conference Team, Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Coach of the Year are selected by the conference’s women’s soccer coaches based on regular season conference play.
