All-HVIAC Women's Tennis Team Announced; Jakubowska Named Player of the Year

FLUSHING, N.Y.—Led by 2014 Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year Agata Jakubowska (Dallas, Texas) of Pratt Institutethe conference announced the members of 2014 All-HVIAC Women's Tennis Team at the conclusion of the 2014 HVIAC Women's Tennis Championships. 

Jakubowska, a three-time Player of the Week, captured the overall tournament singles title for the second straight season and compiled a 9-1 overall record in singles play, her only blemish against Division II LIU Post.

Freshman Megan Basaldua was named the Rookie of the Year after maintaining an unblemished 10-0 singles record, culminated by the No. 5 singles tournament title. The three-time Rookie of the Week was the only freshman named to the team.

Nine women were honored by the conference for outstanding play throughout the season. Four women are repeat winners.

Pratt Institute second-year head coach Shawn Cummings repeated as Coach of the Year after guiding the Cannoneers to 7-2 mark overall and fourth straight league championship.

The HVIAC All-Conference Team, Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Coach of the Year Awards are selected by the women's tennis coaches in the conference.
