NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — The College of New Rochelle junior Simaima Fukofuka (Garden Grove, Calif.) has been selected as the 2018 Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year as the 2018 All-HVIAC Women's Volleyball Team was announced at the start of the HVIAC Championship at the CNR Wellness Center on Saturday afternoon.

A one-time Player of the Week, Fukofuka led the conference with a .329 hitting percentage averaging 2.21 kills per set and her 0.58 blocks per set also topped the league, also earning All-Conference accolades for the second-straight season.

The King's College freshman Samantha Klozik (Plymouth, Mich.) was selected as Rookie of the Year. The rookie outside hitter led the league with 3.49 kills per set and finished just behind Fukofuka in efficiency with a .326 hitting percentage, securing four Rookie of the Week honors this season.

Guiding Davis College to a second-place finish for the second-straight year, Alainey Banks, Peter Ling, and Katie Fox were voted Coaching Staff of the Year.

In total, eight women were honored with All-HVIAC recognition for outstanding play during the regular season and two were repeat honorees.

The HVIAC All-Conference Team, Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Coach of the Year are selected by the conference's head women's volleyball coaches.
