NEW YORK—Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences sophomore Jessica Monzyk (Lockport, N.Y.) was named Runer of the Year and headlines the 2014 All-HVIAC Women's Cross Country Team, recognizing outstanding performances throughout the season.
Twelve women were reconized with All-HVIAC honors, with four repeat winners. The 2014 squad was dominated by underclassmen with eight freshmen or sophomores.
Monzyk was a three-time Player of the Week this season and captured her second straight individual title at the HVIAC Championships, also leading the Panthers to the team title.
Culinary Institute of America freshman Olivia Jose (New Jersey) was named the Rookie of the Year. Jose captured Player of the Week and paced the Steels through the season, taking 8th at the HVIAC Championships.
ACPHS head coach Thomas Hartnett repeated as Coach of the Year after improving upon their runner-up finish at last year's championship to guiding the Panthers their first league title since 2009.
The HVIAC All-Conference Team, Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Coach of the Year are selected by the conference's women's cross country coaches.
