Range, Mitchell Combine for 50 in Win at Berkeley
NEW YORK, NY - Jonathan Range scored a game-high 29 and Tyrell Mitchell added 21 as the Bryant & Stratton Buffalo Bobcats picked up a 91-88 road victory over Berkeley College on Sunday afternoon on the campus of Borough of Manhattan Community College. The Bobcats led by as many as 18 and improved to 7-1 on the season, sweeping this weeken's New York City road trip.

The Bobcats led by as many as 18 and improved to 7-1 on the season, sweeping this weeken's New York City road trip.
THE FAST BREAK
- Range hit the first basket of the game for the Bobcats, a layup through traffic.
- Berkeley responded with six of the game's next seven points to take it's largest lead of the game, 6-3.
- After Range tied the game at nine, Berkeley responded with a bucket before Mitchell drilled one of his two threes to regain the lead.
- Senior Jabari Hibbert scored to increase the lead to three before Range scored to increase it to five. Mitchell then drilled another three to increase the lead to eight, 19-11 with 13:16 left in the half.
- After the Knights got within four, Range and sophomore Jason Mixon responded with back-to-baskets.
- Mixon then put home a two-hand jam in the lane to give the Bobcats their first double-digit lead of the gamer, 26-16.
- Berkely once again fought back but senior Mick Snowden put an end to a mini run, drilling back-to-back treys to increase the lead back to 10, 32-22.
- Berkeley then scored seven straight points before Range scored three straight to hault the run.
- Berkeley entually was able to tie the game at 35 with 4:39 left in the half but Mitchell gave it back to the Bobcats 10 seconds later.
- Junior Devin Redden closed the half with a three from the left wing with four seconds left to give the Bobcats a 45-40 edge at halftime.
- The Bobcats opened up a double-digit lead less than five minutes into the second half after a Jordan Street free throw.
- Snowden then hit a three to make it a 13-point game, 59-46.
- The largest lead of the game came with 11:32 left after Range and freshman Davon Ware hit four straight free throws to give BSC Buffalo a 68-50 advantage.
- The Knights did not go away however. After chipping away at the lead down the stretch, they made it interesting in the final minutes but Range sealed the game with two free throws.
BOBCAT BUCKETS
- Range went 9-of-10 from the floor and 2-of-3 from three, scoring his fifth 20-point game of the year.
- Mitchell missed just four shots, finishing with 21 points, seven rebounds, four steals and three assists.
- Snowden scored 11 on 3-of-5 shooting from distance a day after a school-record 10 threes against Five Towns on Satuday.
- Hibbert finished with five points, six assists and a steal.
- Redden was the leading scorer off the bench for BSC Buffalo, scoring seven points while Mixon scored six points and grabbed six rebounds.
- Ware also added six points off the bench while Taijay Williams chipped in four.
- The Bobcats had 13 steals, led by Mitchell's four and Snowden's three.
- The Bobcats shot 63 percent from the floor in the first half.
- Berkeley edged the Bobcats on the glass, 45-35. It was even in the second half, 20-20.
- BSC Buffalo had 20 assists.
WHAT THEY SAID
"Our goal was to come to New York City and get two wins and we were able to do that," BSC Buffalo Head Coach Damone Brown said. "We did a lot of good things over the last two days. We do still have a lot to clean up. We are always looking to get better and we are never satisfied."
UP NEXT
BSC Buffalo will return to Buffalo but for a road contest when they take on Erie Community College at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. It is the second meeting this year between the Kats and Bobcats with BSC Buffalo taking the first matchup 100-95 back on November 13. ECC enters the game ranked 13th in the latest NJCAA Division II National Poll.
