Albany Pharmacy clinched a spot in their fifth straight championship game with a 5-2 semifinal win over Sarah Lawrence, who made their first HVMAC Tournament appearance.

The visitors got on the board first against the top-seeded Panthers. Clarence Johns scored in the 22nd minute to give Sarah Lawrence a 1-0 lead.  But the Panthers would respond with two unanswered goals before the intermission from Colin Owczarzak (30') and Zach Hecox (34'), to give the Panthers the lead for good.

Ali Macchiarelli scored the eventual game winner in the opening minute of the second half and Albany Pharmacy found the back of the net two more times in the first eight minutes to build a commanding 5-1 lead.

Hecox finished with two goals to lead the Panthers (8-4-2) and Anthony Changelo scored a goal with an assist.

Harper Hunt tallied his third goal of the season on a penalty kick in the 60th minute for the Gryphons (3-13) final goal.

Berkeley outlasted Culinary, 2-1, in double overtime to earn a spot in their third championship game since joining the league four years ago.

The Knights got on the board first on a penalty kick converted by Anton Hakansson in the 35th minute that would be the lone goal in the opening 45 minutes, Berkeley holding the Steels to only one shot in the half.

Culinary came out attacking in the second half, firing six shots (four on goal) in the first 25 minutes of play. The Steels finally got the equalizer in the 70th minute off a free kick by Vin Loseto and both teams remained deadlocked at 1-1 at the end of regulation.

Berkeley was the aggressor in the first overtime and recorded four shots, Eric Hamway making a nice save to extend the game into another overtime period.

The Knights wasted no time in the second overtime, scoring only two minutes into the period, Dare Aniyikaye firing a shot into the top corner off a pass from Ahmet Colak for the game winner.

Berkeley College defeated Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, 5-1, to claim the 2012 2012 Soccer Championship, their second league title in the past three years.

 Berkeley jumped out to a quick lead scoring in the 10th and 17th minutes on goals from Dare Aniyikaye and Hasan Sezer both off assists from Ullises Bravo. 

The Knights dominated control maintaining a 14-4 advantage in shots in the first half and went into the intermission up 3-0 after a goal from Ahmet Colak just before the break.

Sezer and Colak would find the back of the net again in the second half, putting the Knights up 5-0, and finished with two goals each, combining for 11 of the 20 Berkeley shots.

The Panthers got on the board in the 81st minute with an Anthony Changelo goal to cap the scoring. Changelo finished with six shots (three on goal) to lead Albany Pharmacy.

Gustavo Moreno made four saves for Berkeley to earn the victory in net.
