Albany, N.Y. – Junior midfielder Kyle Perry (Irasburg, Vt.) scored his first goal of the season with just 12 seconds left in regulation to give the host Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences men's soccer team a dramatic 1-0 victory over visiting Culinary Institute of America in the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament semifinals Sunday at ACPHS Soccer Field. The Panthers, seeded second, will host the championship match Sunday, November 10 at 1:30pm.

The second-seeded Panthers (9-5) defeated the third-seeded Steels (8-5-1) by a 1-0 margin for the second week in a row after a regular season-ending victory last Saturday in Hyde Park, N.Y. that gave ACPHS hosting rights in today's match.

With the score knotted 0-0 and overtime seemingly inevitable, senior midfielder Steve Sullivan(Broadalbin, N.Y.) launched a last-ditch cross from near the right corner flag that found its way toKyle Perry's forehead and then past Steels goalkeeper Jonathan Bedell with just 12 seconds remaining in the match. Bedell made four saves on the day while senior Panthers keeper Adam Hoye-Simek (Broadalbin, N.Y.) made 11 saves in a shutout effort.

ACPHS will conclude the 2013 season at 1:30 pm Sunday, November 10 when it hosts top-seeded Berkeley College in the HVIAC tourney championship match. The Panthers will look to claim their second conference title in three years in a rematch of last year's final. The ACPHS women's team will open the November 10 doubleheader with a HVIAC title match of their own at 11:00 am against The King's College.

NOTES: Although CIA had the edge in shots by a 24-14 margin on the day, it was the Panthers who had the best scoring chance in the first half. A deflection off a defender appeared headed for the goal in the 30th minute when Steels defender Bobby Attisano charged in to play the ball off his own goal line, crashing into the back of the net as he did so.
