It’s safe to say that the final week of the season was a good one for Mount Saint Vincent freshman Megan Gonzalez. She opened play with her first career nohitter during a 10-0 win over the College of New Rochelle on Monday. Then, during four hours of brilliance, she carried Mount Saint Vincent to the HVWAC Tournament Championship, throwing consecutive shutouts over Saint Elizabeth and St. Joseph’s to lead MSV to their first HVWAC Tournament Championship in five years. During the games, Gonzalez allowed a combined six hits over 14 innings and struck out 13 while walking only one batter.

Mary Marra - Mount Saint Vincent

MSV Coach Mary Marra led the Mount to a dramatic turn-around as the Dolphins improved a 15-24 finish a year ago into a 15-14 season in 2007. Along the way, Mount Saint Vincent captured their first HVWAC Tournament Championship in five years, beating St. Joseph’s in the finals.
