Twu Leads Seven Receiving All-HVIAC Women's Tennis Team Honors

FLUSHING, N.Y. — Pratt Institute freshman Amanda Twu was named the 2016 Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year as the league announced the members of the 2016 All-HVIAC Women’s Tennis Team at the conclusion of the HVIAC Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

Twu collected seven weekly awards this season as both a Player and Rookie of the Week. The freshman compiled an unblemished record in conference play at both singles and doubles helping the Cannoneers to their fifth regular season title in the past six years.

Webster amassed two Rookie of the Week honors this season and also went undefeated in league play posting 3-0 marks at both singles and doubles.

Seven women were honored by the conference for outstanding play throughout the season with three repeat honorees and four freshmen.

Pratt Institute head coach David Eddy was selected as Coach of the Year for the second time  guiding the Cannoneers to a 9-3 mark in the regular season and 3-0 in conference games. 

The HVIAC All-Conference Team, Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Coach of the Year Awards are selected by the women's tennis coaches in the conference.
