NEW YORK — Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences junior Jessica Monzyk (Lockport, N.Y.) was named HVIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Year for the second straight year, leading the 11 women named to the 2015 All-HVIAC Team, recognizing outstanding performances throughout the season.
Monzyk, a junior, collected Player of the Week in all five weeks this season and captured her third straight individual title at the HVIAC Championships, besting a field of 59 runners with a 40-second victory. Teammate Catherine Phelps (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) was named the 2015 Rookie of the Year, finishing in sixth at the Championships and collecting four Rookie of the Week honors this season.
Guiding the SUNY ESF to the team title in their first season in the league producing six harriers in the top 10, head coach John View was tabbed the 2015 Coach of the Year.
The HVIAC All-Conference Team, Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Coach of the Year are selected by the conference's women's cross country coaches.
