HYDE PARK, N.Y. - The College of New Rochelle men's soccer team (5-2) won their second consecutive conference match as they defeated The Culinary Institute of America (1-2) on Saturday afternoon.

The Blue Angels began the game on the attack as freshman Nicholas Prata (Anaheim, CA) tested the keeper with a shot on goal in the first minute of the game but the shot did not find the net. New Rochelle kept the pressure on the Steels as they put up a total of nine shots in the first half but none connected for a goal.

As the second half began, the intensity increased. Fouls were called on both teams within the first minute of play in the final half. CNR remained on the attack as they put up five shots in the first 15 minutes of the half. The aggressive play for both teams began to take its toll when 24 fouls and seven warnings were given in the second half.

New Rochelle finally pulled ahead in the last minute when a penalty kick opportunity was given to them by the Steels. Rolando Oseguera (Mount Vernon, N.Y.), the team's leader in points (14), stepped up and netted his sixth goal on the season to put the Blue Angels up late. The team prepared themselves to defend their single point lead as time ran out on Culinary to tie the game.

The Blue Angels travel to Valley Forge on Monday afternoon for their next game of the season.
