Men's and Women's Basketball Players of the Week (Week #5)

The Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference recognizes the following Student-Athletes for their performance in Week #5 of the 2022-2023 Men's and Women's Basketball season.

Quentin Lackey (So.,Forward) from Word of Life Bible Institute averaged 22.5 points per game and 9.5 rebounds in back-to-back victories against HVIAC opponents, earning him Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Lackey posted a double-double with 29 points and 10 rebounds in a Huskies 83-62 win over Vaughn College.

Christopher Morris (Fr., Guard) of The Kings College earns Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week status for Week #5. Morris scored 17 points going 3-for-8 from beyond the arch against Word of Life Bible Institute. The Lions would drop the game to the Huskies 79-72.

Noteworthy honors go to, Mail Binen (Sr., Guard) from The Kings College. Binen scored 21 points and grabbed 14 boards in a Lions loss to Word of Life Bible Institute. And, John Travis Shearin (Fr., Forward) of The Word of Life Bible Institute. Shearin averaged 16 points and 5.5 rebounds in two HVIAC victories for the Huskies.

There are no selections on the Women's Basketball side of the HVIAC, as no games were scheduled during Week #5.
