Tournament Champions
Cooper Union
The top two seeds in the tournament met in the championship once again in a rematch of last year’s title game, but it would be Cooper Union who would prevail with a gritty performance in a straight-set victory. After taking the opening set, 25-21, the Hawks won a highly contested second set, 29-27, in a frame that saw 17 ties and eight lead changes and required extra points. Cooper Union avenged two losses to Yeshiva in the regular season, applying constant pressure on the defending champions forcing 28 attack errors, including 11 in the final set, which was more than Cooper Union had as a team for the match (10).
