2010 HVMAC Cross Country Championships

The Yeshiva University Maccabees dethroned the two-time defending champion Cooper Union Hawks to win the 2010 Men’s Cross Country Championships. The Maccabees placed four runners in the top ten, scoring 35 points. Senior David Sweet paced the Maccabees with a second place finish, crossing the line in 28:46. Yeshiva had a strong year leading up to the HVMAC Championships, placing third at the York Invitational and fourth at the Lehman Invitational.

2010 HVMAC Individual Champion

Taylor Knoblock • Cooper Union
Cooper Union senior Taylor Knoblock won the HVMAC Cross Country Championships with a time of 28:45 over the 8K course at Purchase College. Knoblock finished second in the event in 2009 before taking the individual title in 2010. He was also the Runner of the Week for the week of September 14.

2010 HVMAC Coach of the Year

Stan Watson • Yeshiva University
Yeshiva University’s Stan Watson has been named the 2010 HVMAC Coach of the Year by his peers. Watson took a program that finished third in the HVMAC Championships last year to winning this year’s event. Watson also led the Maccabees to two other top five finishes this season.
