There is an old adage in sports that offense sells tickets but
defense wins championships, and while CSI was immersed in an
offensive explosion during the HVWAC Soccer playoffs, scoring 13
goals during two games, it was their defense that was truly
dominant. The Dolphins - led by sophomore goalie Tina Bellocchio -
did not allow a goal in the HVWAC post-season as Bellocchio made 11
saves during 135 minutes of play, earning Tournament MVP honors.
Nine of her saves came during the Championship Game. For the
season, CSI finished 7-0 against HVWAC competition, outscoring
opponents 44-2.
