BROOKLYN -- Pratt Institute improved to 2-1 in Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play with a convincing 9-0 win over visiting Vaughn College Friday night.
Freshman Yeh-Eun Heo earned a pair of wins for the Cannoneers, defeating Courtney Scott 8-0 in No. 4 singles and pairing with Sude Rencber for an 8-0 rout of Scott and Alexus Butler.
In top singles, freshman Melanie Kania knocked off Maia Rivers, 8-2. Kania teamed withNeeka Gilardian to best Rivers and Lacy Dickinson by the same score.
Elsewhere, freshman Nicole Hetzel beat Ciara Boggs, 6-1, 6-0.
At 2-1 in conference and 2-7 overall, Pratt will play host to The College of New Rochelle Monday night at 7:30 at the Pratt ARC in HVIAC Tournament play.
