Yeshiva Captures Third Straight Cross Country Title

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- Led by overall individual champion Oliver Sax, Yeshiva University placed six Maccabees in the top eight spots to capture a convincing 31 point victory in the 2012 Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships held at Bard College on Sunday afternoon.

Sax, who took runner-up honors in last year's race, covered the 8k course in 27:56, edging out teammate and last year's individual champion, Sam Cohen, by two seconds.

The Culinary Institute of America took runner-up honors in the team competition, paced by James Avenoso who finished third overall.  Steels head coach Lowell Fisher was named 2012 Coach of the Year in a vote by his peers.
