Schmidt finished 49th overall at the Codfish Bowl, a race that was dominated by semi-pro runners from the New England Region. The freshman was the fifth NCAA Division 3/Independent institution harrier to cross the finish line, clocking in at 29:15 for the 8-kilometer race.
