2010 HVWAC Team Champions

Culinary Institute of America 

The Culinary Institute of America won the 2010 HVWAC Cross Country Championships. Freshman Jackie DeGrandpre and sophomore Brittany Ronan finished first and second overall as the Steels placed four girls in the top 10 and six girls in the top 12. CIA had impressive finishes throughout the year highlighted by a fourth place finish at the Mount Saint Mary Invitational.

2010 HVWAC Individual Champion

Culinary Institute of America freshman Jackie DeGrandpre is the 2010 Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference Cross Country Champion. DeGrandpre cruised through the 5K course at Purchase College in 20:45, over a full minute ahead of the second place finisher. This was the first victory for DeGrandpre, who was named Runner of the Week for September 21 and Rookie of the Week for October 12.

Culinary Institute of America head coach Lowell Fisher has been selected the 2010 Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. Fisher did a great job building the program with young talent to win the HVWAC Championships in convincing fashion.
