2011 HVWAC Team Champions

Culinary Institute of America 

The Culinary Institute of America repeats as HVWAC Cross Country Champions with a 25 point victory over runner up Albany College of Pharmacy.  Sophomore Jackie DeGrandpre and junior Brittany Ronan finished first and second overall for the second straight year and all five scoring Steels finished in the top 15.

Culinary Institute of America sophomore Jackie DeGrandpre repeats as the Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference Cross Country Individual Champion.  DeGrandpre cruised through the 5K course at Purchase College in 20:49, over one-and-a-half minutes faster than second place finisher and teammate Brittany Ronan.  DeGrandpre was a two-time Runner of the Week and held the two fastest times in the conference this season.

Culinary Institute of America head coach Lowell Fisher has been voted as the 2011 HVWAC Coach of the Year for the second straight year.  Fisher continued to build upon the success of last year’s championship to assemble a stronger team that posted strong finishes throughout the regular season and fared well against strong DII/III competition.
