Maring Leads All-HVIAC Women's Soccer Team as Player of the Year

NEW YORK — SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry junior Claire Maring was named Player of the Year and Word of Life/Dave freshman Kiera Pipeling (West Rutland, Vt.) was picked as Rookie of the Year as the members of the 2021 Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Conference Women’s Soccer Team was announced today.

Maring, a forward, registered three goals in HVIAC play this season, which included the game-winner against Five Towns College.

Pipeling, a striker, also scored three goals in conference play and led the conference in scoring with 12 goals and five assists, both league highs.

Guiding the Mighty Oaks to their fourth regular-season title, Head Coach Mandy Olinski and Assistant Coach Brooke Barnes of SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry were named Coaching Staff of the Year.

In total, 10 women were honored with the All-HVIAC recognition for outstanding play throughout the regular season and one was a repeat honoree.

The HVIAC All-Conference Team, Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and Coaching Staff of the Year were selected by the conference’s women’s soccer head coaches prior to the tournament based on regular-season conference play.
