SUNY ESF Claims Fifth Straight Women's Soccer Title

POTTERSVILLE, N.Y. — Regular-season champion and No. 1 seed SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry defeated No. 2 seed Word of Life Bible Institute/Davis College, 9-0, on a rainy Sunday afternoon at Word of Life to secure the 2021 Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Championship.

Undefeated at 10-0-1 and ranked No. 2 in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) coaches poll, SUNY ESF captures the league title for the fifth-straight season.

The Mighty Oaks needed just four minutes to get on the scoreboard with a goal from Jessica Bolton. ESF broke the game open midway through the first with Kelly Cooper recording a hat trick in less than an eight-minute span and the Mighty Oaks took a 6-0 lead into intermission.

Bolton found the back of the net again just eight minutes into the second stanza and the Oaks added two more tallies. For her efforts, Bolton was named the Tournament MVP.

Mackenzie Konisewski also scored twice for the Oaks and Grace Sinsebox and Maggie Rae Bennett also contributed a goal each. Named 2021 Player of the Year in post-game ceremonies, Claire Maring assisted on three goals.
