Greenberg Wins CCNY Invitational Leading Yeshiva Women's Cross Country to Runner-Up Finish

BRONX, N.Y.— Stephanie Greenberg blazed the six kilometer Van Cortlandt Park course in 25:29 to claim first place overall of 85 runners, helping the Maccabees to a second place overall finish at the CCNY Invitational Sunday morning.

Greenberg's first place finish was eight seconds better than the second place finisher's time. The Maccabees scored 57 points en route to earning the runner up spot of 12 teams, as Baruch College won the invitational with 42 points.

While Greenberg was the overall winner, finishing not far behind was teammate Talya Rohdewho was third overall in 25:44. Sarah Mizrachi was the third best for the Maccabees and eighth overall in the race in 26:37. After Mizrachi, Corrie Mathias finished in seventeenth overall in 28:09. Sarah Lazarus was twenty ninth overall in 29:34. After that, three straight Maccabees came across to finish thirty-third, thirty fourth and thirty-fifth as Esther Shollar was thirty-third overall in 29:57, followed by Ruthie Heller in 30:15 and Rebecca van Bemmelen in 30:18.Shoshana Mond was forty-third in 30:51(.50), followed by Julianna Wasserman in 30:51(.70).Rena Thomas finished forty-eighth overall in 31:45.
