Men's Tennis: Pratt 7, Vaughn 2

BROOKYLN – Pratt Institute men's tennis improved to 4-0 in Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) play and 5-2 overall with a 7-2 win over visiting Vaughn College Saturday afternoon at the Pratt ARC.

Reigning HVIAC Player of the Week Sergio Yarritu scored victories in No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles play, teaming with Joshua Morgan for an 8-2 doubles win and blanking Tobi Oladeji 10-0 in singles play. Having previously played primarily out of the Nos. 3 and 4 spots, HVIAC Rookie of the Week Nick Minichiello stepped up to second singles seamlessly, besting Joel Haynes 10-2 after teaming with Shane Davis for an 8-2 No. 2 doubles victory.

In other singles action, Morgan notched a 10-1 win over Karim Fadel in the No. 3 flight, and Davis earned a 10-1 triumph over Matthaus Duncan-Lovell in fourth singles.

At 5-2, the Cannoneers return to the court next Saturday, April 11, at noon in a non-conference tilt at Bard College.
