BRONXVILLE, N.Y.—Daniel Grabowski-Clark has been named Sarah Lawrence College men's volleyball Head Coach, as announced by Director of Athletics and Physical Education Kristin Maile on Wednesday.
"Daniel is an excellent addition to the Sarah Lawrence team," explained Maile. "His experience in the Skyline Conference will be an asset as our program transitions, and his academic background makes him a good fit for the SLC community."
"I'm very excited to get started," noted Grabowski-Clark. "I'm eager to meet the players, and I'm thankful for the opportunity to lead and shape a young volleyball program."
Men's volleyball is the second newest program among SLC's 15 varsity sports. The team was upgraded to varsity status prior to the 2012 season. Only women's soccer, which debuted as a varsity program in fall 2013, is newer.
Grabowski-Clark was a stand-out collegiate player at nearby Purchase College. He began his career by earning North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Rookie of the Year honors in 2007. He was also a three-time All-Skyline First Team selection, earning recognition in 2008, '09 and '10. He also garnered numerous Player of the Week accolades.
In 2009, Grabowski-Clark was named Skyline Conference Player of the Year after ranking among the league's top four players in kills, service aces and blocks. He also led the Panthers in digs while helping the team improve by eight wins over its 2008 record.
As a senior, Grabowski-Clark named to the Skyline Honor Roll three times while posting team-best averages in kills (4.12/set), service aces and digs (1.75/set).
Grabowski-Clark brings seven years of coaching experience at the high school and club levels. Most recently, he has served as the junior-varsity head coach and varsity assistant coach at his alma mater, Farmington (Conn.) High School. He has also coached successful volleyball clubs in Chicago; Peekskill, N.Y.; and Windsor, Conn.
Grabowski-Clark is a 2010 graduate of SUNY Purchase College with a B.F.A. in Graphic Design.
