Men's Volleyball: Yeshiva 3, Webb 0

NEW YORK, N.Y.— The Yeshiva men's volleyball team wrapped up its 2014 Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) regular season schedule with a 3-0 win (25-15, 25-13, 25-14) over Webb Institute at the Max Stern Athletic Center on Thursday evening.
 
The win improves the Maccabees to 8-14 overall and 6-0 in HVIAC as Yeshiva will be the No. 1 seed for the conference championship next Thursday, Apr. 10. Yeshiva will play Sarah Lawrence College in the semifinal round at 6 p.m. Webb Institute falls to 3-4 overall and 2-3 in HVIAC and will play St. Joseph's-Brooklyn in the other semifinal round contest that night.
 
In the win over Webb, the Maccabees were led by Jared Rechnitz with 10 kills, six service aces and five digs. Joseph Lipton added five kills (one error) on seven total attacks for a .571 attack percentage, while Menachem Goldstein added eight kills and two blocks (one solo, one assist).Adam Rhodes had 24 assists and 10 digs.
 
Webb was led by Brian Mills with four kills and six digs, while Dylan Froriep had three kills and four digs. Cody Owen added nine digs for the Webbies.
 
Yeshiva is back in action on Sunday for a Skyline Conference multi match at the Max Stern Athletic Center. The Maccabees will face the College of Mount Saint Vincent at noon before playing New Jersey City University at 2 p.m.
