ACPHS did not relinquish a point in the first quarter and scored the game's first 24, on their way to a 73-39 win over the Pratt Institute Cannoneers. The win moves the Panthers a game over .500 at 9-8, and continues their undefeated start in league play where they stand at 4-0. Pratt drops to 4-6 overall, 1-3 in the HVIAC.

The whole game's story comes in the opening 13 minutes, where the Panthers held the Cannoneers to a 0 for 18 start from the field. The Cannoneers did get going once they saw the first one fall, and actually outscored the Panthers 19-13 in the 2nd period. ACPHS took a 34-19 advantage into the break and actually saw their lead dwindle all the way down to nine when Pratt scored the opening six points of the 3rd quarter. But it was all too little too late for the Cannoneers, as ACPHS started forcing mistakes and put the game away with a 14-0 run. Albany only gave up eight points in the 4th to closed this one out and give themselves their fourth win in five games.

The usual suspects were at it again for ACP, with junior Dannie Griffin(Paramus, NJ / Paramus Catholic) the star of the game. Griffin filled the stat sheet with 20 points on an efficient 8 of 13 shooting, 22 rebounds, five assists, five steals, and three blocks. Freshman Emma Webster (Cadyville, NY / Saranac High) continued her stellar opening campaign on Sunday, pouring in 22 points on 9 of 12 shooting and including two made threes. Senior Rebecca Foote (Arcade, NY / Pioneer) rounded out the big performances from Albany with a line of 13 points, nine rebounds and six assists. The Panthers went 30 of 66 (45.5%) from the floor and outrebounded the Cannoneers 52-40.

The win keeps the Panthers in first place in the HVIAC, and they will look to extend their conference win streak when they head to Vaughn College on Saturday, February 4th at 1pm. Pratt looks to get back on track with a non-league matchup against Sarah Lawrence College on Thursday, February 2nd at 8:30pm.
