Women's Basketball: New Rochelle 70, King's 31

NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The College of New Rochelle women's basketball team opened up Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play in a big way Friday night, as they thumped The Kings College 70-31 to improve to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in the league.  King's falls to 5-2 and 0-1 in the league.

Freshmen Dar'Neisha Brice (Lexington Park, MD) continued her offensive output as she hit for a game-high 29 points and was the lone player in the game to hit for double-digits.  She also had game-highs in assists (5) and steals (7) for the Blue Angels.  She was pivotal in helping CNR jump out to a 32-8 first quarter lead.

Sophomore Aaliyah Fields (Hollywood, MD) and freshmen Ashley Martin (Queens, NY) each added eight points for CNR. Junior Caitlin Harrison (Bronx, NY) led the way on the boards with eight.

Stats of the game:

*  CNR forced the Lions into 35 turnovers on the night, which resulted in nearly half of their points being off a turnover (34).
*  Brice shot an impressive 10-for-12 from the field (83%).

CNR will be back in action at home on Sunday when they host City College in non-conference action at 2pm.
