Women's Soccer: King's 10, Yeshiva 0

YONKERS, N.Y.— The Yeshiva women's soccer team lost to the King's College, 10-0, in the Maccabees' 2014 Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opener on Wednesday evening at Tibbets Brook Park.
 
The visiting Lions scored four goals in the first half and another six in the second en route to the shutout victory. King's was led by Genesis Castrellon with three goals and an assist. She fired 13 shots in the game, eight of which were on goal. Meanwhile fellow teammate Aleena Cruz had two goals and two assists, while Caitlin Essex added a pair of goals and an assist.
 
King's outshot Yeshiva 35-2 in the contest, including 20-0 in the first half. The Maccabees' two second half shots came in the second half, one was off the foot of Natasha Bassalian and the other by Shlomit Braun.
 
Elena Kook started in goal and made 10 saves for Yeshiva.
 
Yeshiva is back in action on Friday for a contest against Fisher College at Purchase College Soccer Field at 1 p.m.
