Women's Tennis: Pratt 9, New Rochelle 0

BROOKLYN, NY –  The Pratt Institute women's tennis team routed the Blue Angels of New Rochelle 9-0 to improve to 2-0 in Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Saturday afternoon in the ARC. The result extends Pratt's winning streak to three, while New Rochelle falls to 0-5 (0-1 HVIAC) on the year.

As doubles play commenced, Pratt's No. 1 team of Amanda Twu and Melanie Kaniaset the pace by blanking New Rochelle's Chloe Wang and Ja'Shay Davis 8-0. Caroline Madden and Morgan Ferweda dropped only one game en route to their 8-1 decision in No. 2 doubles, while Huize Wu and Ivy Fu's 8-0 victory allowed the Cannoneers to sweep all three flights heading into singles action.

In the No. 1 singles slot, Amanda Twu, the reigning HVIAC Player of the Week, appeared in peak form as she took her match 10-2. Melanie Kania took the No. 2 singles flight 10-4, while Madden, Ferweda, and Wu all posted impressive 10-0 decisions in their singles matches. Pratt completed the shutout with Sofiya Levina's 10-1 victory in No. 6 singles, and they remain in first place in the conference standings entering the final month of the season.
