The Berkeley College of New York women's basketball team (9-2 Overall, 3-0 HVIAC) won their sixth straight game on Sunday afternoon, defeating the Panthers of Albany College of Pharmacy (10-2 Overall, 2-1 HVIAC) by a score of 44-38 in a Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game played at the Albert M. White Gymnasium in Albany, NY.
Things looked bleak for the Knights early on, as Berkeley Collegefound themselves trailing by 10 points – 31-21 – as the teams went into the locker room at halftime. Berkeley College came out an entirely different squad in the second stanza, limiting the Panthers to just seven points on three converted field goals in the final 20 minutes of action and rallying to solidify a six point victory.
Leading the way for Berkeley College on the afternoon was junior guard Janay Thomas, as she scored a game-high 19 points to go along with five rebounds, a pair of assists, and two steals. Junior forward Milan Germany posted yet another double-double, as she netted 10 points, snatched 10 rebounds, dished three assists, collected three steals, and swatted two shots.
Both teams struggled shooting the basketball on the afternoon, asBerkeley connected on just 25.8 percent of their shots (16-62). Albany College of Pharmacy didn't fare much better, as the Panthers converted on 28.6 percent of their attempts (15-56). The Knights held a slight 51-46 edge on the glass, and also collected nine steals compared to three for A.C.P. Berkeley College won the turnover battle as well, committing 13 miscues to the Panthers' 17.
Despite the loss for Albany College of Pharmacy, the Panthers were paced by junior Taylor Sullivan who posted a double-double with team-highs in points with 10 and rebounds with 12. She also added a pair of assists, as well.

Albany, N.Y. – The Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences women's basketball team (10-2, 2-1 Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) saw its chances to remain unbeaten in HVIAC action ruined by a frigid second half shooting performance in a 44-38 loss to visiting Berkeley College (9-2, 3-0 HVIAC) Sunday afternoon at Albert M. White Gymnasium.
The Panthers, who led by as many as 17 points and 31-21 at halftime, but made just three of 27 field goal attempts (11.1 percent) and scored only seven points in the second half en route to a six-point defeat.
Neither team scored for the first 5:18 of the second period with the Panthers not getting on the board until Megan Serley drained a three-pointer with 9:52 left in the ballgame.
Taylor Sullivan finished with a 10-point, 12-rebound double-double to lead ACPHS with Alexa Schooley adding eight points and seven rebounds. Kelsey Johnson pulled down nine rebounds and blocked five shots.
Berkeley point guard Janay Thomas scored a game-high 19 points and banked in the go-ahead three-pointer with 1:25 left as a part of a game-ending 8-0 run. The Panthers did not score for the final four minutes and 21 seconds of the ballgame.
ACPHS is back in action at 5:00 pm tomorrow evening when it hosts SUNY Delhi in a non-conference game.
