Women's Tennis: Pratt 9, New Rochelle 0

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Pratt Institute improved to 7-3 and 2-0 in league play with a 9-0 win at the College of New Rochelle on Saturday in Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's tennis play at Beckwith Pointe.

Freshman Amanda Twu improved to 4-0 in top singles play with a 10-8 win over Sydney Thompson. She paired with sophomore Melanie Kania for an 8-1 No. 1 doubles win over Thompson and Chloe Wang, whom Kania knocked off 10-1 in No. 2 singles.

In No. 3 singles, freshman Haddie Webster swept Yveline Lamothe 10-0. Webster teamed with Yilin Yan for an 8-1 triumph over Lamothe and Jhosalie Danseco. Making her No. 4 singles debut, Yan earned a 10-1 win over Danseco.

Elsewhere, Eva Hsu and Sofiya Levina combined for the first time in besting Oumie Jobareth and Carolyn Spillane, 8-6. Hsu beat Jobareth 10-2 in fifth singles, and Levina doubled up on Spillane, 10-5 in sixth singles.

Pratt wraps up its regular season Thursday night on campus at the ARC at 8:00 p.m. in HVIAC play against Berkeley College.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -  The College of New Rochelle Womens Tennis team took on Pratt Institute Saturday afternoon in a crucial Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup at Beckwith Pointe.  CNR battled in several key games, but came up short each time, resulting in a 9-0 setback.  The Blue Angels fall to 1-1 in the conference and 1-8 overall.
