NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The College of New Rochelle women's volleyball team opened up their HVIAC conference play on Saturday, October 14 against Pratt Institute and Davis College. The Blue Angels took both matches in three sets each bringing their conference record to 2 - 0 and overall record to 13 - 10. 

The first match of the day would be the CNR Blue Angels versus Davis College Falcons. The Blue Angels swept the Falcons in three straight sets (25 - 8, 25 - 15, and 25 - 18). Sophomore Imani DeBose (Carson, CA) led the offense pounding down 14 kills and holding a .324 hitting percentage on the match. Sophomores Simaima Fukofuka (Garden Grove, CA) and Cristal Michelle Liciaga (San Juan, P.R.) both finished the match with six kills a piece. The attackers were able to achieve success because of the smart decisions of both setters on the Blue Angels. Senior Melanie Ann Lopez Soto (Gurabo, PR) dished out 17 assists while Liciaga handed out 15. 

CNR would take on Pratt Institute for their second match of the day winning in three straight sets (25 - 23, 25 - 13, 25 - 10). Sophomore Cristal Michelle Liciaga led the offense with eight kills, served up five aces, and also contributed two blocks.Sophomore Imani DeBose continued to find success on the court earning seven kills, two aces, and seven digs against Pratt.  Junior libero Stephanie Garcia (Chino, CA) led both teams with seven digs and brought in three aces.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY – The Pratt Institute women's volleyball team lost both games of their Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tri-match on Saturday evening in New Rochelle. The results level the Cannoneer's record at 7-7 (2-2 HVIAC).

Match 1 | Pratt 2, Davis College 3: Outside hitters Marlena Todd and Emelen Mikelic both set career-highs in kills, 18 and 15 respectively, but the Cannoneers we bested by the Falcons in five sets, 25-18, 22-25, 20-25, 25-23, 6-15.

Mikelic's 18 digs and Hannah Lee's 15 defensive scoops led the Cannoneers. Anna Elisse Uy added a personal-best seven kills, while Alivia Senevoravong tallied 41 assists, but Pratt's offense went quiet in the fifth and deciding set, hitting -.059 as the Falcons earned their first-ever victory over the Cannoneers.

Davis College was led by Brooke Lewandowski's 11 kills, while Jamie Brown added 29 digs.

Match 2 | Pratt 0, New Rochelle 3: After keeping the first set close, Pratt was unable to keep pace with New Rochelle, falling to the Blue Angels in straight sets, 25-23, 25-13, 25-10.

Emelen Mikelic's nine kills led the Cannoneer attack, but Pratt had their worst hitting game since the first week of the season, attacking at a -.125 percentage. Defensively, Mikelic and Hannah Lee co-led with six digs apiece, while Oliver Buika provided the lone block for Pratt.

For New Rochelle, Cristal Liciaga's eight kills led the Blue Angels.
