New Rochelle Receives At-Large Bid To NCAA Division III Volleyball Championship

NEW ROCHELLENY - The Lady Blue Angels won their fifth straight Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship and were awaiting to see if the team would be selected for an NCAA Tournament Women's Volleyball bid. On Monday afternoon the team gathered to watch the selection show for the 2017 Division III Women's Volleyball Championship's. In the final bracket of the tournament the room would erupt in excitement as New Rochelle showed up on the screen for the second year in a row. The team was selected from Pool B as the qualifying Independent team. 
 
On Monday afternoon, the NCAA announced the entire field of 64 teams that qualified for the Division III Women's Volleyball National Tournament. The women's volleyball team will travel to Georgetown, TX on Thursday, November 9 in preparation for the first round matchup on Friday, November 10. In the West bracket The College of New Rochelle Blue Angels (20 - 10), winners of the HVIAC, will take on the Colorado College Tigers (31 - 1), winners of SCAC, on November 10, 2017 at 4:00 PM ET. 
 
The team is very excited to have the opportunity to compete in the national championships for the second consecutive year and second year in program history. The match will have live stats and live video.
