The Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference recognizes the following Student-Athletes for their performance in Week #12 of the 2022-2023 Men's and Women's Basketball season.
Marc Combs (Sr., Guard) from Berkeley College is named Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Combs averaged 21.5 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals, in two Knights victories in Week #12.
John Travis Shearin (Fr.,Guard) of Word of Life Bible Institute earns the honor of Rookie of the Week in Week #12. Shearin averaged 19.3 points, snatched 11.7 rebounds, and shot 87.5% from the Free Throw Line as the Huskies go 1-2 against non-conference opponents.
Notable performances, Kenneth Hines (Fr., Forward) averaged 6 points and 6 rebounds for Berkeley College. Damani Merritt (Sr., Guard) of Five Towns College scored 28 points, grabbed 3 rebounds, and shot 60% from the field. Santiago Ndukanma (Fr., Guard) from Villa Maria College averaged 9.5 points, 5 rebounds. Quentin Lackey (So.,Forward) from Word of Life Bible Institute averaged 14.7 points, 5.7 rebounds. Rhalon Bragg (Sr., Guard) of Villa Maria College posted a double-double(22 points, 10 rebounds). And, Jason Jawinata (So., Guard) and teammate, Maison Migliore (Fr., Forward) from the Culinary Institute of America, combined for 10 points for the Steels.

Amal (Cammy) Mahmoud (Sr., Forward) of Berkeley College earns the recognition of Women's Basketball Player of the Week fin back-to-back week's. Mahmoud scored 24 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, and stole the ball 6 times, in a Knights loss to Washington Adventist University.
MJ Buck (FR., Guard) from the Word of Life Bible Institute earns Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the fourth time of the 2022-2023 Season. Buck averaged 12 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3 steals and shot 40% from the field. The Huskies split games 1-1, against non-conference opponents.
