Men's Basketball: Albany Pharmacy 78, Culinary 50

Albany, NY – The Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Men's Basketball teams faced the Culinary Institute of America on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at the Albert M. White Gymnasium in an HVIAC regular season matchup.

Both teams played strong first halves, with the Panthers holding a 37-25 edge at halftime. Leading scorers for the Steels were Avery Britton with 9 points and Fredrick Moore with 5 points in the opening half. ACPHS was led by Ryan McVaigh with 14 points andBrandon Votra with 11 points.

The second half showcased more aggressive basketball by these conference rivals. The Panthers began to widen their lead early on and continued to pull away in the second half. Led by Alex Johnson (16 points and 4 rebounds), Ryan McVaigh (19 points and 8 rebounds) and Brandon Votra (13 points and 11 rebounds) ACPHS grabbed their third conference victory over the Steels, 78-50. The Steels Avery Britton finished the contest with 17 points and 5 rebounds.

The Panthers improve their record to 4-8 and 3-0 in the HVIAC and next face Berkeley College on Tuesday, January 27 at 8:00 p.m. at Berkeley. For more information visit www.acphsathletics.com.
