QUEENS, NY -- The Pratt Institute Men's tennis team concluded their conference portion of the schedule by routing Vaughn College 7-2 on Saturday afternoon.
In doubles play, the combination of Ben Erickson and Rongxin Zhang finished an undefeated conference campaign, going 4-0 on the season with an 8-2 victory. Eli Eskenazi and Simon Salazar increased the Cannoneers lead with an 8-0 decision, while Hubert Chen and Johnson Meng made it 3-for-3 with an 8-1 final.
In singles, Pratt would take the first four contests, highlighted by a 10-2 victory by Simon Salazar, who finished HVIAC competition by going a perfect 4-0 in No. 4 singles play.
With the verdict, the Cannoneers (3-3, 3-1 HVIAC) finish conference play tied atop the table with Culinary.
Pratt returns to the court next Friday, April 21, against New School at the USTA National Tennis Center in Queens. Match time is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
