NEW ROCHELLE, NY – The College of New Rochelle's Jah-Leah Ellis fell an assist short of the program's first triple-double, tallying 15 points and game-highs of 22 rebounds and nine assists as the Blue Angels posted a 68-37 HVIAC win over Vaughn College tonight at the Wellness Center.

Ellis was one of four Blue Angels in double figures, as she was joined by Alyssa Pechin (14 points, six assists), Caitlin Harrison (12 points, 13 rebounds) and Hannah Cambel (12 points).

Vaughn was led by Cianna Peterson's 20 points, but the CNR defense held the conference leading scorer (27.2 ppg) to just 8-36 shooting from the floor (22.2%) and 2-19 (10.5%) from beyond the arc.  For the game, the Warriors converted just 17.9% (14-78) of their field goals.

After Vaughn's Peterson scored the game's opening basket, CNR outscored the Warriors 38-11 over the rest of the first half to open up a big lead.  Both Ellis and Harrison had achieved a double-double by halftime.

Cambel scored nine of her 12 points in the second 20 minutes as the lead never dipped below 24 points in an evenly scored second stanza.

The College of New Rochelle improves to 9-5 overall (2-1 HVIAC) with the win, while Vaughn falls to 6-5 overall and 1-4 in HVIAC play.

The Blue Angels return to the court on Saturday, hosting HVIAC-leading Berkeley College in a game slated to being at 1:00 PM.  The CNR 1984-85 National Runner Up team will be honored at halftime on the 30th anniversary of their legendary run.
