Women's Basketball: Albany Pharmacy 66, Yeshiva 31

Albany, NY – The Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Women's Basketball teams faced Yeshiva University on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at the Albert M. White Gymnasium in an HVIAC regular season matchup.

The Panthers and the Maccabees came out of the gates slowly but began to pick up the tempo of the game in the opening minutes of the first half. ACPHS, led by strong inside play from Dannie Griffin jumped out to a 39-18 lead at the end of the half.

The second half saw both teams battle but ACPHS's depth and inside play proved too much for the Maccabees. At the sound of the final horn, the Panthers were victorious 66-31. Leading scorers for the Maccabees Julia Owen and Stephanie Greenberg. ACPHS so strong performances from Alexa Schooley, 19 points and 5 rebounds) and Dannie Griffin (13 points and 14 rebounds).

The Panthers improve their record to 10-3 and 4-1 in the HVIAC and next face Hamilton College on Wednesday, January 28 at 7:00 p.m. at ACPHS. For more information visit www.acphsathletics.com.

ALBANY, N.Y.— Playing for the first time in 2015, the Yeshiva University women's basketball team was defeated by Albany College of Pharmacy (ACP) 66-31 in a Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) game on Sunday afternoon.
 
The loss leaves the Maccabees at 2-9 overall and 1-2 in HVIAC play, while ACP is now 10-3 overall and 2-1 in the HVIAC.
 
The host Panthers led from start to finish. ACP scored the first six points of the game to take the initial en route to leading the rest of the way.
 
ACP led 39-18 at halftime, and the Panthers never led by less than 19 points in the second half.
 
Yeshiva was led by Julia Owen with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Stephanie Greenberg had nine points, eight rebounds and four steals. Simee Rosner had a team-high 11 rebounds in the contest.
 
ACP was led by Alexa Schooley with 19 points, while teammate Dannie Griffin had a double-double of 13 points and 14 rebounds.
 
Yeshiva returns to action on Wednesday for a game against Mount Saint Mary's College at the ARC Arena at Baruch College at 8 p.m.
