Langer to Lead New Rochelle Women's Soccer Program

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -  The College of New Rochelle's Director of Athletics and Recreation John "Jay" Butler has announced that Jon Langer has been selected to be the first head coach of the College's newly created women's soccer program.

"We are very fortunate to have a seasoned professional, like Jon Langer, embark on building the women's soccer program at The College of New Rochelle.  This is another historic day for the College and I believe Jon is the best person to lead us for the challenges which lie ahead.  He has experience at all levels (Professional to Youth Travel) of coaching soccer and has an unparalleled record of success.  His networking spans the globe and will assist him in recruiting quality student-athletes to CNR.  I look forward to supporting Coach Langer as he builds on the success of the Blue Angels.", said Butler.  

Langer brings a wealth of coaching knowledge to the position, as he served as Head Coach of the New England Force from 2012-2014, Head Coach of Austin Posse and Assistant Coach at St. John's University. He also served as a volunteer assistant at Bryant. His most recent stint was head coach of the men's program at the College of Mount Saint Vincent.

Langer has an extensive playing background to go along with his coaching experience. In addition to appearing for the US Junior National Team in 1984, he played collegiately for North Carolina State University and Sagamon State University, where he was a member of the NC State team ranked in the top-10 and member of the 1988 NAIA National Championship team for Sangamon State.

He played professionally for Racing de Ferrol in the Spanish Second Division as well as Betar Jerusalem in the Israeli First Division in the early 1990's.
