Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology is pleased to announce the hiring of a new men's soccer team coach, David McLaughlin. Coach McLaughlin has a wealth of experience in coaching soccer at a high level. McLaughlin said that he is excited for the challenge and "Recognition will come from 'wins', but respect will come from discipline."
McLaughlin coached at Brooklyn College from 2006-2008 where he held a high win percentage, and had his team ranked by Adidas as a top ten team in the Northeast in 2007.
As a player, he started the varsity men's soccer team at Xaverian High School in Brooklyn in 1971 where he was named three-time captain and most valuable player. He played Division I soccer for Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and after finishing his collegiate career, his team the "S.K. Falling Stars" of Tulsa, Oklahoma, won a National Amateur Cup in the over 30 division in 1986.
