Berkeley Men's Soccer Falls in USCAA National Championship Semifinals

The sixth-seeded Berkeley College (NY) Knights upset the defending USCAA National Champions and third-seeded Briarcliffe College Bulldogs in penalty kicks. The hard fought Empire State matchup came down to the Knight's goalkeeper Camilo Montes. After ten penalty kicks the score was knotted up at three each when Montes scored the next penalty kick and saved the subsequent Briarcliffe attempt.

The Bulldogs were not shy in attacking the goal, launching 21 shots to Berkeley's 9 attempts. The Knights will face off against the second-seeded University of Maine-Fort Kent Bengals Friday, at 3:45pm (est.) in the USCAA Men's Soccer National Championship semifinals.

The perennial powerhouse and second-seeded University of Maine Fort Kent Bengals defeated Berkeley College NY 5-1 to advance to the finals of the 2013 USCAA Men's Soccer National Championships. The Bengals scored early and often, tallying two goals 22 seconds apart from each other in the first half. Kennard Brown paced Fort Kent with two goals and an assist in the winning effort.

The top seeded WVU Tech Golden Bears will take on the second-seeded University of Maine-Fort Kent Bengals on Saturday at 3:30pm at Trace Fork Field. These two finalists faced off during the regular season where the Golden Bears edged out the Bengals 4-3.
