ALBANY, NY – The Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences men's soccer team cruised past visiting Vaughn College 5-0 in nonconference action at home. The win for the Panthers evened its overall record at 3-3 while the loss for Vaughn was its third of the season (0-3).

The Panthers controlled play for most of the first half, as they carried the play in the Warrior's end of the field. Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences finally broke through in the 43rd minute when Steve Sullivan (Broadalbin, NY / Broadalbin-Perth) collected a pass from freshmanZak Giorgi and buried it in the back of the net.

The Panthers held a 9-7 advantage in shots and a 4-2 advantage in corners in the opening half of play.

Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences didn't waste any time in the second half scoring 4 goals in 9 minutes. Captain Zach Hecox (Hartford, NY / New Hartford) entered the game one goal shy of surpassing the school's career goal record. During the 47th minute, Hecox broke the scoring record and added to it with another goal at the 54th minute. The previous school record of 45 career goals was held by Brandon Schenck since 2009. Hecox now holds the record with 47 career goals with plenty of chances to continue to add to it during his senior season. Steve Sullivan would go on to add to the scoring, when he curled a shot over the outstretched arms of Vaughn's goalkeeper Ahmed Aly. Zak Giorgi scored his fifth goal of the season in the 51st minute when he collected a pass from Ryan Mack (Binghamton, NY / Chenango Valley).

Senior goalkeeper Adam Hoye-Simek (Broadalbin, NY / Broadalbin-Perth) got his third win and first shut out of the season, registering 7 saves.
