NEW ROCHELLE, NY – The Blue Angel's Men's Soccer team took on the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY - ESF), the reigning Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Champions on Sunday, October, 15.
The Mighty Oaks came out strong defending their championship title from the 2016 season. SUNY - ESF scored their first goal seven minutes into the first half. They would have the first three goals of the game, leading 3 - 0. CNR sophomore Cesar Rodriguez would score off a penalty kick in the 29th minute of the first half keeping the score at 3 - 1. SUNY - ESF would answer back shortly after scoring their fourth goal. The score going into half time had the Blue Angels down 4 - 1. SUNY - ESF would find the goal one time in the second half bringing the final score to 5 - 1.
Some honorable mentions are Xavier Cruzata and Heber Maldonado who each had one shot on goal and Cesar Rodriguez with two shots on goal.
