Women's Soccer: Yeshiva 10, Medgar Evers 0

BROOKLYN, N.Y.— The Yeshiva women's soccer team got five goals from Merav Sadan Barach to lead a barrage of goals scored by the Maccabees in a 10-0 win over Medgar Evers College at Old Boys High School Wednesday afternoon.
 
The win improves Yeshiva to 1-1(1-0 HVIAC) on the season while Medgar Evers is now 0-9 (0-4 HVIAC).
 
The Maccabees scored five goals in the first half and another five in the second, and YU outshot the host Cougars 35-1 in the route.
 
Sadan Barach had a hat-trick within the first twenty-six minutes of the contest. Her first goal came fifty-seven seconds into the contest to give the Maccabees a 1-0 lead, before scoring again at 17:16 to put YU ahead by a pair. Jennifer Shamisan then put one home at 20:50 to give the Maccabees a 3-0 lead before Sadan Barach put the next one past the Medgar Evers goalkeeper. Then Sara Shamir scored with just 1:10 to go before halftime to put the Maccabees ahead, 5-0.
 
By halftime, Yeshiva held a 19-0 advantage on shots and 4-0 on corner kicks attempted. For the game, YU attempted six corner kicks.
 
In the second half, the barrage continued. First Arianne Pinchot scored less than five minutes into the second half to give YU a 6-0 lead. Then Michal Cohen scored at 54:20, before Shlomit Braun added one at 70:50. Sadan Barach rounded out the goals for the Maccabees with the final two goals of the game. Her fourth goal of the game came at the 72:45 mark, before the next one at 74:50.
