YONKERS, N.Y.—With both teams looking to secure a spot in the postseason, Sarah Lawrence College women's soccer played 110 scoreless minutes with Berkeley College (N.Y.), as the squads played to a 0-0 tie in a Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game at Tibbetts Brook Park on Wednesday.

After the draw, both teams remain one win from clinching a spot in the 2013 HVIAC Women's Soccer Championship.
Sarah Lawrence (2-9-1, 2-2-1 HVIAC) controlled the offensive flow for the duration of the game. The Gryphons notched their first shot in the third minute, one of eight strikes by forward Kaylen Dornan (San Diego, Calif./High Tech High International). SLC's Elle Blanchet (Washington, D.C./Woodrow Wilson) tallied a season-best seven shots in the effort, including three in the first half.

For Berkeley (2-2-1, 2-2-1 HVIAC), goalkeeper Haddy Cessay had a busy day, making nine saves on the day, including six in the second half.

After a scoreless first half, the Green and White went into overdrive in the second half. The Gryphons fired a flurry of 12 shots in the second half, including a pair of strikes by Sofie Jokela (Northfield, Minn./Northfield) and a shot by Shannon Sullivan(Templeton, Mass./Narragansett Regional). In the final minute of regulation, Jokela fired a shot that seemed destined for the back of the net, but an athletic save by Cessay sent the game into overtime.

SLC dominated the ball in the first overtime period, keeping the Knights from posting a single shot. Sadie Zavgren (Wilton, N.H./Homeschooled) and Jokela each tallied a shot, but neither was on-frame.

The final 10-minute period featured only one shot. SLC's Maya Ahmed (Dubai, UAE/American School of Dubai) launched a shot that was inches from finding the net as it caromed off the crossbar. Despite a last-minute push by both squads, the final seconds trickled off the clock, and the game concluded in a 0-0 stalemate.

In goal for SLC, senior Tori Close (Greenwich, Conn./Westtown School (Pa.)) notched two saves in her first varsity shutout.

Both Berkeley and Sarah Lawrence have one HVIAC contest remaining, and both squads can clinch a postseason berth with a win. On Tuesday, the Knights will play St. Joseph's College Brooklyn and the Gryphons take on Yeshiva University. All four teams can still qualify for the two remaining spots to join Albany Pharmacy and The King's College in the four-team tournament field.

SLC will play Yeshiva at Silver Lakes Park in  West Harrison, N.Y. on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.
