Women's Volleyball: New Rochelle 3, Medgar Evers 0

NEW ROCHELLE, NY – A straight set victory over HVIAC foe Medgar Evers College tonight at the Wellness Center extended The College of New Rochelle's set win streak to six and improved the Blue Angels conference record to 3-0.
 
The College of New Rochelle posted a positive hitting percentage in each of the three sets as the Blue Angels tallied 25-7, 25-10 and 25-16 wins.
 
Meghan King and Marissa Armstrong each registered match-highs with nine kills.  King added 10 digs, and nine aces while Armstrong added seven digs and six aces.  Indigo Flowers handed out a match-high 24 assists, while Tiany Perez Diaz dug up a match-high 13 balls.
 
The Blue Angels return to action this weekend, traveling to Purchase, NY to participate in the Manhattanville College Tri-match.

New Rochelle, NY- The Women's Volleyball team fell to the College of New Rochelle Blue Angels 3-0 earlier tonight. The scores were 25-7, 25-10, and 25-16. The win improves the Blue Angels record to 9-7 Overall and 3-5 HVIAC while the Cougars drop to 1-9 Overall and 0-5 HVIAC.

The first 2 sets were easily won by the Blue Angels. In the 3rd set, the Cougars showed some fight. Down 15-10, the Cougars recorded back to back blocks and tied the set at 15. The College of New Rochelle would call a time out, and go on a 9-1 run to win the set, and the match.

In the loss, the Cougars were led by Seniors Janiece Hill and Beatrice Bonhomme with 2 kills. Hill added 2 service aces, and a solo block. Freshman Charlena Mackey and Sophomore Nina Bernadine-White tallied 4 assists.

The College of New Rochelle in the win, were led by Meghan King and Marissa Armstrong with 9 kills.

The Cougars will be back in action on Saturday Sept. 28, 2013, when they travel to Wilkes-Barre, PA and play in a multi match. At 1pm, the Cougars will play the St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn, then at 3pm will face the home King's College of PA Monarchs.
