BRONXVILLE, N.Y.—In the Gryphons' final home match of the season, Sarah Lawrence College women's volleyball fell to Yeshiva University, 3-0, in a Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match at Noyes Court at Campbell Sports Center on Wednesday.

Before the match, senior Jenai Richards (Kailua, Hawai'i/St. Andrew's Priory) was honored in a brief ceremony to recognize her three seasons with the Gryphons.

Sarah Lawrence (3-20, 1-5 HVIAC) led midway through the opening set, 15-11, but Yeshiva (2-6, 2-4 HVIAC) rallied to tie the match at 15-15. Richards put the Gryphons back in front with a pair of service aces, but again the Maccabees struck back. With SLC in front 21-19, the visitors scored six straight points to ice a 25-21 set.

In the second set, a 14-2 Yeshiva run quickly put the set out of reach. The Gryphons closed a double-digit deficit to eight points at 20-12, but the Maccabees were unfazed and clinched the set, 25-13.

Yeshiva inched away in the early goings of the third set, but Sarah Lawrence recovered and tied the match at 12-12. A string of four Maccabee points made the difference, as YU took a 16-13 edge, and the Gryphons were unable erase the gap in an eventual 25-21 win for Yeshiva.

Richards capped off her final home match with five digs, three aces and two kills. Junior Kitty O'Sullivan (Los Angeles, Calif./Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy) led the Green and White with 11 kills and 11 digs, earning her third double-double of the season.

Rookie Lin Zhu (Chengdu, China/Chengdu No. 7) matched her season best with nine digs, while Clarisse Taboy (Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia/George School) pitched in five kills and eight digs. Setter Janet Tonyan (McHenry, Ill./McHenry) tallied 20 assists in the loss.

For Yeshiva, Jackie Berger led the Maccabees with 10 kills, while setter Emily Rohan assisted on 19 spikes. Sarit Zukowsky and Shira Genauer shared a team-high 10 digs.

Sarah Lawrence travels to the St. Joseph's College-Long Island Volleyball Invitational this weekend. The Gryphons will square off against Ramapo College on Friday and against Manhattanville College and Farmingdale State College on Saturday. SLC ends its season at HVIAC opponent St. Joseph's College Brooklyn on Tuesday.
