ALBANY, N.Y. – Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences junior Zak Giorgi (Whitesboro, N.Y.) was named Player of the Year as the league announced the members of the2015 All-HVIAC Men’s Soccer Team at the conclusion of the HVIAC Tournament.
Giorgi led the league in goals (16) and points (38). The junior who recieves All-HVIAC honors for the second straight year also scored one game-winning goal.
Berkeley College's Victor Marotta was named the Rookie of the Year. The rookie forward finished tied for second in the league in points (24) and fifth in goals scored (9), which included two game-winning goals.
SUNY-ESF head coach Dan Ramin and Albany Pharmacy head coach Jon Piraino were named Co-Coaches of the Year. Ramin led the Mighty Oaks to a 5-2 mark in league play in his first season in the league, while Piraino, also in his first year in the league, guided the Panthers to an 11-5 mark, including 6-1 in league play, and a No. 5 ranking in the USCAA Coaches Poll at season's end.
In total, 19 men were honored with the All-HVIAC recognition for outstanding play throughout the season and four were repeat winners.
The HVIAC All-Conference Team, Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Coach of the Year are selected by the conference’s men’s soccer coaches based on regular season conference play.
